Dave De Rose's new record 'Opium Dream' is a diverse yet coherent piece of work and a strong addition to his growing collection of EPs. It alternates effortlessly between the mumbling ambiences of lush, subtly percussive, dream-like soundscapes and the more recognisable live crunch of his stick beaten vintage drum tracks. Clearly pursuing his love for the rounder 1970's sound, and heavily tainted by African and electronic dance moods, "Opium Dream" replenishes the fresh flavour of his insatiable rhythmic and sonic curiosities.
